The CALL Interest Section of the international TESOL professional association offers the opportunity to participate in the Electronic Village Online (EVO) 2008 season.
This is a professional development project and virtual extension of the TESOL 2008 Convention in New York. The intended audience for this project includes both TESOL 2008 participants and those who can participate only virtually.
You do not need to be a TESOL member to participate in a free , six-week , wholly online session of the EVO, Jan 14 - Feb 24, 2008.

AMERICAN STUDIES SERIES
Higher Education in the USA, the third book in the "American Studies" series, launched by the American Embassy in Moscow, is the result of collaboration and discussion among Russian and American teachers.
The authors of the idea are Prof. Maria V. Verbitskaya and Prof. Elena N. Solovova. The project was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Bridget F. Gersten, the English Language Officer of the Public Affairs Section.

Student Annual Conference
April 12th, within the framework of Student Annual Conference at the Pedagogical Institute of South Federal University (Rostov-on-Don, Russia), the section "Information technologies in EFL teaching" was organized.
Seven reports were presented by the students:
1. Project Method in teaching English grammar (Tulisova Galina)
2. WWW resources in teaching EFL to young learners (Pivovarova Natasha)
3. Integrating Blogs into EFL teaching (Yukhanaeva Diana)
4. Wiki as a webtool for creating group projects (Maryukhin Vitaly)
5. Webtools for creating tests, quizes, exercises for EFL learners (Samigulina Yulia)
6. «Opensource Whiteboard» in online EFLT (Marushkina Oksana)
7. WWW social services in teaching EFL (Volkova Yana, Bondareva Rita)

Педагогический институт Южного Федерального Университета (г. Ростов-на-Дону) приглашает команды студентов языковых факультетов вузов (1-3 курс), колледжей, учащихся 10-11 классов и их преподавателей-кураторов для участия в проекте "Приглашаем всех на праздник!".
Рабочие языки проекта: русский, английский, немецкий.
Цель проекта: Подготовиться к проведению праздника в традициях страны изучаемого языка, посредством общения с носителем языка с использованием современных информационных технологий.
